AS Roma chief goal-getter Valentina Giacinti boasts the team I Giallorossi ‘tackles challenges using our experience’ when referring to the wealth of experience found in the team.
Featuring in her debut season in the Women’s Champions League, Giacinti has praised the team’s wealth of experience and stated that the many former captains in the team are what have propelled the team to the last eight of the UEFA Women’s Champions League on the first time of asking.
Explaining her theory, Giacinti said, “We tackle challenges using our experience,”.
“Elisa Bartoli is a captain with whom we resonate, but our team is made up of many former captains. I thought about this the other day when Vicky Losada arrived, a former captain of Barça. There’s Carina Wenninger, former Bayern captain, there’s me from Milan, Linus [Elena Linari], Andressa Alves – all former captains.”
With an impressive four strikes for her team and having led them to second behind Wolfsburg in Group B, Giacinti rates the goa she scored against same side as her “favourite and most important goal”.
Her left-footed strike into the bottom corner in Roma’s Matchday 3 game against the two-time winners stands out for her.
