Corinne Diacre faces the chop

France women’s manager Corinne Diacre stirs dismisal from her position.

The decision is expected to be made next week at a French FA executive board meeting. Amid player exodus that has seen a number of the team’s big stars withdraw from the national team, the future of the embattled gaffer is hanging by a thread.

Captain Wendie Renard ignited the exodus and was soon to be followed by. PSG pair Kadidiatou Diani and Marie-Antoinette Katoto. Forward Eugénie Le Sommer, who has not been called up since before the Euros, amid reported tensions with the manager, has shown support for the trio.

Canal+ report that current PSG coach Gérard Prêcheur is the favourite to take over the reigns as the team prepares World Cup this summer.
