Chicago Red Stars team news

Yuki Nagasato and Mallory Swanson enjoyed a scoring opening day, albeit on the loosing side, and will look to continue their form in front of goal and help their team to victory. Nagasato or Swanson have either  scored or assisted each of the Red Stars’ last eight goals dating back to last season, the duo will be chomping at the bit to extend their dominance in front of goal.

Swanson’s 11 goals and her ruthless form for the USWNT at the SheBelieves Cup tips the pendulum for the player to watch in her favor. Nagasato’s four goals also helped Chicago Red Stars finish strongly last season.

Houston Dash team news

Houston midfielder Sophie Schmidt made six tackling attempts against  Louisville and the hard yards she puts in the middle of the park will be colossal for Dash. Ebony Salmon and Diana Ordóñez had a sniff at goal against Lousiville and that will be a good start going into the weekend. Schmidt will undoubtedly be the player to watch.

Houston won both matches last-year, posting 4-1 and 1-0 in the series and a continuation of this form will be top on the menu for Houston.
