The London club is delighted to announce that Jodie Taylor has joined them until the end of the season.

The striker returned to the North London club for her second spell having played for them between 2016 and 2017. She scored 10 goals in 17 appearances during her first stint with the club.

Jodie joins the club following the expiration of her contract with San Diego Wave in the National Women’s Super League (NWSL) in the USA. Her return to Arsenal is the latest step in a career that has taken her across Europe, America and Australia.

Besides her club success in club football having won the UEFA Women’s Champions League with Lyon in 2020, she has also scored 19 goals in 51 appearances for the Lionesses and was top scorer at the 2017 UEFA European Women’s Championship.

“It feels amazing to be back – like I never left,” said Jodie, who will wear the No.27 shirt for Arsenal. “It’s incredible to have this opportunity to come back to the club that I love so much. A lot of progression has happened here in the last five years since I was last here and to see how much the club has grown and progressed is incredible. I’m very happy to be here.”

Head Coach Jonas Eidevall added that Arsenal is pleased to have brought in Jodie to help them from now until the end of the season. The coach also said Jodie has a proven track record for scoring goals and hope her experience will be a great asset to the whole dressing room.

Clare Wheatley said Jodie is a really experienced and talented player and will give the club added competition at this crucial stage of the season. The Head of Women’s Football is delighted to bring her back to the club and cherish great memories of working with her in her previous spell at the club.
