- Vilde Boe Risa’s stunning set-piece opened the floodgates for the visitors
Manchester United progress through to the Vitality Women’s FA Cup Quarter Finals after Vilde Boe Risa, Leah Galton, Hannah Blundell, Alessia Russo and Nikita Parris put Durham to the sword.
With the hosts struggling to get going, Boe Risa’s free kick sparked life into the Reds with her set piece delivery soaring into Durham,s Naoisha Mcaloon’s top corner moments before the break. Galton doubled the lead in the 53rd minute. Blundell killed the game as a contest when she lingered towards the edge of the attacking box where she hit the ball on the half volley rolling it under the goalkeeper on the hour mark.
Substitution Alessia Russo nodded the ball home from close range, just five minutes after coming on. A fumble in the box lead to Parris getting herself on the scoresheet in the 88th minute.
