FIFA has released the final shortlist for The Best FIFA Women’s Player award.
England and Arsenal midfielder Beth Mead is on the shortlist with Alexia Putellas (Spain/Barcelona) while USWNT and San Diego striker international Alex Morgan completes the list.
Putellas clinched the award in 2022.
The winner is set to be announced at a Paris ceremony on 27 February 2023.
The accolade recognises the most outstanding performers in the women’s game from the period of 7 August 2021 to 31 July 2022.
According to FIFA the shortlist has been selected by an international jury of four groups: women’s national team coaches, women’s national team captains, women’s football journalists, and fans who voted on FIFA’s official website.
